From the Advisory Council Chair
I can’t believe that one year has gone by since our first newsletter went out! Many wonderful things have happened at Angels Charge during this time; a third home was donated to us, a van was made available to us at a reduced rate, our “Calling All Angels” luncheon raised $10,000, and most importantly we have now helped over 50 women improve their lives since opening our first home in January 2014. This year is going to see even more exciting things happening; updating and opening our 3rd home will give us 8 more beds to house women who need our services; we are evaluating our organizational capacity and working on our first strategic plan with a grant from The Spartanburg County Foundation; we have started discussions with The Mary Black Foundation and United Way to find ways to collaborate and make the best use of our community resources with partners like AccessHealth. I invite you to help us spread the word about the good work that Angels Charge Ministry is doing in our community and the progress we have made toward reducing female recidivism in Spartanburg County. If you would like to meet with us or have us speak at a club, business, church or another group you are a member of, just give us a call…we have some amazing stories to share!

Autumn entered into the Angels Charge House in December of 2015. Because of Angels Charge, Autumn is currently employed at McDonald's where she was recently promoted to a management position. When she is not working Autumn is participating in weekly treatment classes at the Forrester Behavioral Health Center and attending AA and NA meetings. Autumn has been clean and sober for 12 months now and she loves her new life. Autumn has a solid support system and has gained much knowledge on how to maintain her sobriety. A major help for her has been developing a true relationship with God. Autumn works on Sunday morning so she is not always able to attend Sunday morning church service but she is always present at Thursday night Bible Study. Autumn has recently transitioned out into independent living and is expecting to be reunited with her two children very soon.
